OEM main bolts typically struggle to handle the pressure in high-horsepower engines.Constructed using an 8740 Chrome Moly with an added proprietary element ensures these studs are more durable and will not stretch like the factory bolts. The threads are rolled after heat-treating to deliver optimum fatigue strength.These studs are rated at 210,000-230,000 psi yield strength and 220,000-236,000 psi tensile strength to ensure a strong hold under higher combustion pressures.In addition to the increased strength, replacing the main bolts with studs also allows you to obtain a more precise torque reading. A bolt gets twisted as it is tightened, so it's reacting to two different forces at the same time.With a stud the force gets applied to the vertical axis, resulting in a more even clamping force.
