A master cylinder that's mounted close to a major heat source, such as exhaust headers or turbo piping, is subjected to constant high-temperature exposure. Additionally, many engine compartments have extremely high temperatures. That heat is transferred to the fluid inside the master cylinder. Lava Master Cylinder Shield deflects up to 90 percent of heat away from the master cylinder, keeping both it and the fluid inside considerably. This provides more consistent and improved braking performance. Lava Master Cylinder Shield installs easily over most master cylinders by way of integrated flathead rivets and high-temperature Inconel securing wire. This also makes it simple to remove for brake-system servicing.
